Dr. German is a clinician scientist in the Department of Molecular Neurology at University Hospital Erlangen in Germany. His research focuses on the intersection of cryobiology, neuroscience, and medicine, with a particular emphasis on structural brain preservation, vitrification, and quantitative MRI. Dr. German serves as the project lead for a clinical brain archiving study and is a Managing Director of the biobanking spin-out Hiber, He also serves as Treasurer of the International Society of Young Cryobiologists. Dr. German earned his medical doctorate summa cum laude, achieved the top national score on Germany’s medical state examinations, and has published translational work in leading journals including PNAS and NeuroImage. His work has been featured by Nature, the Wall Street Journal, and the BBC.
