Glorioso, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Christin Glorioso is a neuroscientist, physician, and entrepreneur whose work over more than two decades has centered on understanding brain aging and preventing dementia. Her commitment to the field is personal. As a child, she watched her grandmother develop Alzheimer's disease in her late sixties and saw how the diagnosis reshaped her family over the seven years that followed.
She earned her BS in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan before completing her MD and PhD in Neuroscience through the Carnegie Mellon and University of Pittsburgh Medical Scientist Training Program, training in the laboratory of Dr. Etienne Sibille. Her doctoral work examined how the molecular aging of the human brain intersects with the pathways that drive neurological disease, and identified a functional variant in the sirtuin 5 gene (SIRT5) that accelerates the molecular age of the brain across multiple regions and independent patient cohorts. She went on to join Dr. Leonard Guarente's laboratory at MIT as a postdoctoral associate in computational biology, where she studied normal human brain aging and its contribution to dementia risk.
Her published research spans the molecular biology of brain aging, sirtuin biology, and the genetics of Alzheimer's disease, including cross-cohort analyses establishing both SIRT5 and APOE4 as measurable modulators of how quickly the human brain ages. This work has been supported by the American Federation for Aging Research, the Glenn Foundation for Medical Research, and the National Institute on Aging. She has taught a course on brain aging at MIT and lectured at Stanford and other leading institutions, and has held leadership roles including Head of AI of the COVIDB initiative at TeachAids and Chief Strategist of the Bakar Aging Research Institute at UCSF.
As an APOE4 carrier herself, Dr. Glorioso understands what it means to face elevated genetic risk for Alzheimer's and to want rigorous, actionable information early enough to act on it. She founded NeuroAge on the conviction that dementia is not an inevitable part of aging but a biological process that begins decades before symptoms appear, and one that can be measured and addressed while intervention still matters. The NeuroAge platform brings together brain MRI volumetrics, genetic risk profiling, RNA biomarkers, and cognitive testing in a single assessment, giving patients and clinicians a comprehensive, quantitative picture of brain health.
Beyond NeuroAge, Dr. Glorioso works to advance the broader field of longevity medicine as Co-founder and Executive Director of Longevity Global, a nonprofit that supports the science and practice of healthy longevity through international conferences and scientific initiatives. A former Division I college tennis player, she brings the same discipline to her scientific and entrepreneurial work that shaped her athletic career.
